14th April 2017
In this week’s issue….
It’s the Easter Holiday and I’m going to keep it brief this afternoon….
MOSS ON THE MILL is the pick of the prices in tomorrow’s Staying Chase Series Final at Haydock (2.40). The 12s is a nice price about Tom George’s 9-year-old.
He’s only had 7 runs to date over fences and he’s progressed nicely across the winter. Better ground brought out a career-best chase performance last time at Wincanton – he did what he was asked to do, put in a nice round and stayed on well at the death to win cozily by 3.5 lengths….
H showed all the signs of a horse who can progress once again now that spring is here. He gets his chance tomorrow afternoon….
Tom George’s yard has been in decent heart of late – producing 5 winners over the last fortnight. Principal jockey Adrian Heskin has opted to ride Behind The Wire – leaving Paddy Brennan to pick up the ride on this one.
The market might have taken that as a sign. Right now Behind The Wire is almost half the price of the selection.
But I’m not concerned about that. Moss On The Mill thrives at this time of year. No jockey can ride two in the same race. And I always opt for the case of a double-figure price over a single-figure one….
Standard place terms are 1/4 1-2-3.
That’s all from me this week. Enjoy the Easter weekend.
