The pick of the prices at Ascot….

MICHAELA’S BOY at 11s is overpriced in the Shergar Cup Dash at 1.35….

With the exception of the favourite, Mick Appleby’s 3yo is the youngest horse in tomorrow’s race….

…. and he does get a bit at the weights for that….

…. plus he’s already shown he can handle the heat when up against the older horses….

…. when dead-heating for 2nd in last month’s 16-runner Rockingham at the Curragh….

He was up in the van all the way, the pace held up, and he stuck to his job manfully….

It was a career best performance….

…. for me he lost it on the nod….

…. on another day he would have won….

…. and he’s up just the two pounds….

Football’s back – ante-post bets here….

In the Shergar Cup Mile – 3.20….

Hayley Turner rides that last one….

…. and she also rides POSITIVE IMPACT for the Crisford team – at the 10s – in the Shergar Cup Mile at 3.20….

Some trainers have multiple horses running in tomorrow’s Shergar Cup races – but Crisford has just this one….

…. and the 4yo returns from a 183-day break and a disappointing two-race campaign in Meydan over the winter….

But he did shape with plenty of promise last season – making strides and climbing the ladder….

…. whilst giving the impression there’s more to come….

When last seen at Kempton he won comfortably – whilst posting a clear career best….

Of course, he’ll have to do it on turf….

…. and he’ll need to do it first-time-up….

But the yard’s going well….

…. he’s a potentially well-handicapped horse….

…. and he might just be misjudged on that Meydan form over the winter….
