David O’Meara is having a decent month – with 9 winners from 41 runners @ 22%....
…. and the yard has another big chance of banking cash at York tomorrow afternoon….
…. in the form of ALLIGATOR ALLEY who goes for the Lindum York Handicap over the 5f trip (2.15)….
He had a fruitless campaign on the AW over the winter….
…. only visiting his favourite synthetic track – Newcastle – once in six goes….
The upshot of that is that he’s down to a mark of 89 for tomorrow’s assignment….
…. and that’s very much an official rating he can do business off – no doubt….
When last seen at York he was second – beaten a neck and unlucky not to win – in the Sky Bet And Symphony Group Handicap at the Ebor meeting in August….
…. finding just Equilateral too good….
That one reopposes on 4lb inferior terms to tomorrow and….
…. assuming O’Meara has Alligator Alley ready to roll….
…. he’s weighted to be dangerous….
In stall 13 he’s in and around horses that I expect to travel deep into the race….
…. giving him something to aim at in the closing stages….
…. and the rain not falling in the quantities anticipated is in his favour….

I’m with David O’Meara again in the Hambleton Handicap (2.45) – backing BLUE FOR YOU at the general 9s – with some 12s available in places….
He’s almost always run well at York with form figures reading: 2/10, 2/4, 1/18, 5/16, 1/11 & 0/19….
That last blip came in August last year during a period where the 6yo’s form dropped off markedly – and a wind-op in October suggests something was amiss….
He returns tomorrow on a mark of 100….
…. just a pound above what he was rated when winning the John Smith’s Racing Handicap over course and distance back in July last year….
And whilst he’ll have to do it tomorrow on seasonal reappearance….
…. He ran a cracker in this race first-time-up last term – from a wider draw and off a 2lb higher mark….
If the wind-op has done the trick – and they’ve had plenty of time to assess its effective ness back at base….
…. then he can produce another big performance on the Knavesmire tomorrow….
