Having a punt on Boxing Day….

In ATC today….

…. I’ve got a couple of Boxing Day bets for you….

The King George is the feature at Kempton tomorrow….

…. the off time is 2.30….

…. and my pick of the prices is ENVOI ALLEN at 10s….

I’m also on GOOD BOY BOBBY in the 1.35 at Wetherby – he’s up at 9s ….

In the 2.30 at Kempton….

Connections believe they have unfinished business in the King George at Kempton (2.30)

…. the last time ENVOI ALLEN contested the race in 2022 he failed to feature on ground that would haven been too soft for him….

The ground is quicker this time around….

…. he won his ninth G1 at the first time of asking in the Champion Chase at Down Royal last time out….

…. and for me he’s the pick of the prices at 10s….

For sure, he’s a 10yo now – but they’ve got him firing….

…. conditions have come up in his favour….

…. and Rachel Blackmore travels from Ireland for the one ride on him tomorrow afternoon….

…. and I reckon he’s a fair bet to get competitive at a decent price….

In the 1.35 at Wetherby….

I really am nailing my colours to the old boys tomorrow….

GOOD BOY BOBBY is the oldest runner in the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby (1.35)….

…. but he runs off his lowest ever mark….

…. with a 7lb claimer Jamie Brace on his back to boot (the first time connections have used a conditional)….

…. and I reckon connections fancy him to have a real crack at this on his first go outside Veteran races this term….

He’s been holding his own in those contests and arrives in decent enough form….

The track is the key – he’s won at Wetherby four times (including this race back in 2021)….

He’s not the same horse he was then, of course – but he’s rated 15lb lower (22lb lower if you include the 7lb Brace takes off) and so doesn’t have to be….

…. and he really does like his track….

If he’s got one last song to sing for decent money then this is the place he will sing it….

…. and he’s worth a punt at the 9s….
