My pick for tomorrow’s Irish Grand National….

In ATC today….

The Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse is the feature handicap on Easter Monday….

…. the off time is 5.00….

…. and my pick of the prices is KINTURK KALANISI at 10s….

KINTURK KALANISI turns out for tomorrow’s Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse (5.00)….

…. not as some after-thought following assignments at Cheltenham, Aintree, or Ayr….

…. but as the product of a Plan A hatched by connections following the Easter meeting at Fairyhouse last year….

The ground is coming right for him – it’s soft to heavy right now….

…. and with more rain set to fall overnight and tomorrow morning the 7yo is set to get the testing conditions that suit….

He must overcome inexperience – that’s for sure with just four previous goes over fences to his name….

…. but the upside of relative inexperience is the opportunity to run whilst potentially ahead of the official assessor….

He’s rated 135 and on the evidence of the beginner’s chase run at Navan in January….

…. where he was beaten in 2.75 lengths by Three Card Brag (who went well for a long way in the Grand National)….

…. with Captain Cody (winner of last week’s Scottish Grand National) and Now Is The Hour (now 16lb higher and half the price in the market) in behind….

…. he could be well weighted under 10-7….
