I’m having a real swing of the bat in the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso (1.50) tomorrow….
I’m backing EL MUCHACHO each-way – he’s up at 33s, 28s & 25s this morning….
Down towards the bottom end of the weights on a mark of just 123 – he could be nicely handicapped….
He’s progressed for each of the three handicaps he’s contested to date….
…. winning two and finding just one too good last time at Catterick….
The second horses in both races he won franked the form with subsequent wins….
…. and last time – in defeat – there was still a lot to like about his effort. He looked a horse in a good place….
The handicapper’s put him up 4lbs for that defeat. And tomorrow’s race is a big step up in class and opposition level….
…. but the 6yo has more to come….
…. he could be treated handily enough – and placed cannily enough – to outrun a big price….
UNDERSUPERVISION showed improved form to come out on top in last season’s edition of the Grimthorpe at Doncaster (3.15)….
At 11/2 and 5s he’s a fair bet to leave seasonal form behind again – and to produce another big run….
He produced last season’s win off a mark of 132. And he gets to run off that same mark again tomorrow….
I imagine this race has been a longstanding target. If he turns up in the shape he did last year then he’s entitled to go very close….
