The pick of the Saturday prices….

Irish raider OLD PECULIAR is drawn out in stall 13 for tomorrow’s Roseberry Handicap at Kempton (2.40)….

…. but I still think he’s a big price at the general 16s….

He was in Britian last month….

…. racing at Lingfield….

…. where he went down in a decent race to progressive Penzance….

That one went close next time….

…. running for a big pot on AW Finals day at Newcastle on Good Friday….

…. and producing a performance that boosts the Lingfield form….

Connections are clearly sufficiently encouraged to take another crack at British prize money….

Mark Fahy’s charge is up 2lb to a mark of 88….

…. but there’s likely more to come….

Old Peculiar’s improved no end for blinkers….

…. winning three of his last four….

…. and he arrives a horse on the up….

Those wins were produced at a lower level than this….

…. but he’s going the right way….

…. and he deserves his place in the line-up at the bottom of the weights….

…. the Lingfield run tells us that much….

He’s got that wide draw to negotiate....

…. but in David Probert….

…. he’s assisted by a top Kempton pilot….

 There’s plenty of potential early pace….

…. and maybe Probert can get across and sit off it….

….  before making headway late – and with an extra furlong to run into….

That might just be the right hand of cards tomorrow….

Who knows….

…. but I like the price….

DUTY OF CARE at the general 10s is my bet in the Virgin Bet Queen's Prize Handicap at Kempton (3.15)….

Things didn’t pan out for him at Newcastle on AW Finals Day….

…. he was coming from too far back in a contest where it paid to be on the pace….

…. but the 6yo did make an eye-catching move at one point….

…. he finished off nicely….

…. and he looks in good form…. 

Quite a few in tomorrow’s field like to go forward….

…. and a better early pace than he got at Newcastle will be no bad thing….

Saffie Osborne comes in for a first time ride on the horse – trained by her father, Jamie….

Is it significant? Who knows – but I expect a good run….
